AT480/485

Lengnau-based Formex Watch SA, inventor of the patented active case suspension system, is presenting the first suspensionless collection in its company history. The Classic Collection Automatic is also opening a new chapter with respect to the movement. The watches are endowed with the latest Japanese quality calibers crafted by Miyota. In all models, the pulsating self-winding movement can be admired through a display back.

This is not the first time that Swiss watch manufacturer Formex SA has played a pioneering role in the development of extraordinary timepieces. While previous collections were always decidedly sporty, Formex is now broadening its spectrum with the classic business look, presenting a suite of models without the patented active case suspension system for the first time. With its Classic Collection Automatic, Formex Watch SA welcomes price-conscious customers and people who wish to enter the realm of mechanical watches at an affordable price. With respect to quality and Swiss design, the new watches are absolutely on par with the top-tier Formex classics. The collection spans four lines with a case diameter of 40.5 mm, a comfortable size for any wrist.
The very sleek and classic AT 480 GA Date is one of the collection's ambassadors. It features a lucidly configured dial with a raised chapter ring, Arabic numerals, and a date display at 3 o'clock.

The AT 480 GA Open Heart will excite watch enthusiasts who want to observe the pulsating inner life of their timepiece. An aperture in the dial reveals the breathing balance of the top-of-the-line Miyota movement. The dial is endowed with Roman numerals. Both models are available with silvery or black dials and an antireflection-coated sapphire crystal. Matching crocodile-embossed black or brown leather straps with prong buckles accentuate the harmonious personality of these timepieces.

The AT 480 GA Power Reserve is also equipped with a superb Miyota movement. With its balanced look, this watch shows how Swiss Design highlights Japanese technology. The power-reserve indicator at 12 o'clock clearly shows how much of the 40-hour run time remains. The three subsidiary dials for the month, day, and 24-hour indications are subtly arranged as well. This interesting watch comes with a black or a white dial and a matching crocodile-embossed leather strap.

Those who prefer a more casual look in their choice from the Classic Collection Automatic line will opt for the version with applied luminous hour markers and numerals. To emphasize the brawny look, the timepiece features a rugged leather strap with stitched seams. The sporty version comes in steel or with a black PVD coating.

Formex Watch SA designer and CEO Hanspeter Grädel notes:

I wanted to showcase the excellent quality of Miyota calibers as an alternative to our Swiss movements. The challenge was there for the taking: to find a common denominator for Swiss Design and Japanese technology. We look forward to the market's response to our very first collection without the patented suspension system.
